Hammer in CH System on Start-up

I could do - but the problem has only manifest itself in the last few months. Something has changed in a system that never had the problem :!:

Hammer in CH System on Start-up

This problem seems to crop up and yet I have not found the answer to my problem so far. Our CH system emits a loud bang from the pipes on start-up and at no other time. It is micro-bore and quite old - like 30 years. I note that we have NOT had to bleed the radiators for a long time. There...

Blind connection of WC to Soil Pipe

Ref the flexible connection offered by Picasso - no it wouldn't fit - but thanks. The reason I asked the question in the first place is because I don't know what I am doing - that is why I seek the advice of those who do :!:

Blind connection of WC to Soil Pipe

Can anyone tell me how to connect a new WC with enclosed sides to a horizontal soil pipe that protrudes from a bulkhead wall panel. I have all the push on fittings but I cannot witness whether the connection has made or not because of the side panels on the WC :!: It is almost impossible to get...

Leak on Danesmoor 15/19 Pump/Burner Unit

Please can anyone advise : I have a 30 year old Danesmoor that has started to leak around what seems to be a graduated 'Jubilee Clip' at the junction between pump and burner. My boiler maintenance engineer could not find it and he is costing me a lot of money! :( Do I need a new pump -...

    Danesmoor 15/19 Boiler Lockout

Thanks again John - I really did not want to start jacking the tank around! The tank is over 2 metres above the boiler. Your point about air pressure is interesting. The boiler is old and inefficient with the baffles very worn - could that be another clue? Also, I have noticed that there is...

John - Burnerman - Please see layout of line to boiler to give full picture of tank alongside our side wall. We inherited this configuration :!: :!:

    Danesmoor 15/19 Boiler Lockout

Hi John - Please see attached pictures of filter and line to boiler (below ground level shown). The tank has a slight fall - towards the oil outlet. I think it could be jacked up a bit when the oil level has dropped. The oil in the bowl looks clean. Thanks for your interest and input :D

    Danesmoor 15/19 Boiler Lockout

Hi Oilhead and Burnerman - Thanks for your input. The maintenance guy removed a sheet of ice from the filter bowl during the cold spell and changed the filter (type) but I think there is a good chance that there is more water in there. The same guy did not offer me a different burner so I...
