    mdf doors?

Hmmm. This is all getting a bit complicated without any visual support of what you're describing. I might just knock up a couple of lighter-weight T&G doors and use old-fashioned butt hinges. Thanks for your help anyway.

    loft feeder tank noise

Thank you for your suggestions Jamie. I'll try the insulation angle.

    loft feeder tank noise

I'll try and give you the full picture. My house is more of a dormer bungalow than a full two storey house. All the upstairs rooms have "ski-lings", ie sloping ceilings up to the pitch of the roof. The loft is therefore more of a loft space occupying, I would guess, the last 3 or 4 feet below...

    loft feeder tank noise

Is there any way of reducing the noise that is made by water refilling the hot water feeder tank in my loft space?

    mdf doors?

The doors will be hung either side on 45mm square wooden uprights. I want the doors to be completely flush with the face of these uprights.

    mdf doors?

I've visited Woodfits site and there's a plethora of stuff there. Can you tell me which hinge (x10!) I'll be needing, please.

    mdf doors?

Blimey! That's a lot of hinges. By kitchen hinges I take it you mean the sort found on kitchen cupboards. I've always had a bit of a problem with these. Is there a guide or some handy hints available for fixing these?

    mdf doors?

Thanks. That's 4 or 5 hinges per door presumably?

    mdf doors?

I want to make two built-in wardrobe doors measuring about 7ft high by 2ft. each. Can I make these by simply cutting out the doors from thick MDF (eg. 18 or 25 mm) or will they soon buckle horribly in a short space of time?

    Zanussi fridge-freezer ZF 67/42 FF

Sleepyhead - your suggestion sounds good. We'll eat frozen stuff for the next few days to whittle contents down, and try it! Will report back. Thanks to all.

    Zanussi fridge-freezer ZF 67/42 FF

Freezer is OK. Fridge has stopped cooling, but light comes on inside. I've been told it may be the thermostat. Can I positively diagnose this as the fault? If so, is it easy to replace?

    garden decking question

The objective is to minimise the overall height, so I'd be laying them with the the 50mm edge to the ground giving me a height of 25mm. I suppose I could use a wider timber, say 3X1 to give me more leeway when fixing the decking. One further question - what should I treat this timber with to...

    garden decking question

I am intending to lay some decking on an area of sound concrete outside my back door and french doors. I do not have a great deal of depth to play with - about 7cm clearance. All the base/frame timber I have seen at places like B&Q would take me above this level. The question is - would I be OK...
