I am intending to lay some decking on an area of sound concrete outside my back door and french doors. I do not have a great deal of depth to play with - about 7cm clearance. All the base/frame timber I have seen at places like B&Q would take me above this level. The question is - would I be OK making my frame from 2x1 inch roofing battens firmly screwed and plugged into the concrete?
