One other general question I am unclear on is.... Does the 9651 Panel actually charge the 12v Lead Acid Battery in the Panel ? Or does it use it just for backup power in the event of a power cut ? Also the same for a bell box... do they usually have the electronics to charge the bell box...

Hi, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you all... Thanks to all for all your help. I have uploaded pics of the bell box itself and found some documentation that came with the bell box... I am suspecting the 4k7 EOL resistor is the culprit... but that is just a guess... images...

checked and the microswitch is definately depressed... ie it should not be sending a tamper alert

yes, I have loosened the screw cap off the pump and some water has expelled.
