Well that is probably the only solution but that would be pushing my limited plumbing skills too far. Im happy to replace stuff but re-engineering is a step too far. Anyway, I will give up and call a plumber and see what they say.
It doesn't judder - rather I can feel the vibration of a motor turning; same feeling you get when a pump is running but it has to be in the actuator as the only outside connection are the wires.
But I am surprised that if I grip the spindle with pliers I cant turn it at all.
Trouble is there...
Hi All
My central heating controls do not work because, I think the actuator does not work
I can manually move the 3 position 'tap' (normally driven by the actuator) to get hot water or central heating but the electronic actuator seems stuck so the thermostat has no effect making controlling the...
I cant see how it is possible in my case
If I flip the handles as suggested then pushing the handle down rotates the square spindle that moves the latch in the other direction but the spindle only rotates one way (there is some catch inside the latch mechanism that stops it turning the other...
LostintheLight: I have to say it looks plausible. I'll have a go later tonight or maybe tomorrow. I'm on tidying up duty right now and if I dont get that done I'll probably spend Xmas in the garden shed!!
I've had one lock apart and can see no way I can change things internally to change the hand. Its hard because things are held together with a circlip and my circlip removing tool has pins that are too big!
It seems screwfix may have a latch that fits in which case I will go down that route. If...
All other handles in the house rest horizontal and push downwards to open.
Upside down: Yes my first thought (well 3rd actually!) but its not possible (hence the PS above). Effing stupid design IMHO!
Sorry for the confusion.
This picture is of the door handles assembled (but without the door!). In this position the latch is pulled inwards when the handles are pushed down. Perfect
BUT the door closes 'away' from the viewer of the picture and the sloping side of the latch points towards the...
I doubt it. All door handles in the house are the same design and installed with the long side down. Some (eg bathroom) have a lightly longer back plate to provide space for a locking knob but all are installed long side down.
Some open Left Handed and some Right.
This is the only one that does...
I have inherited a lounge door with handle that has the wrong hand (up to open)
I've taken it apart but can't see how I can change it so it is down to open.
I cant believe it is not possible because other doors with the same handles opening the same way work 'correctly'
Any suggestions welcome
Thx
Bosch clasixx 1200 washer dryer (model WAE24162UK/01).
All the wash cycles I have tried (30, 40 easy care 30) trip the electrics about 7 or 8 minutes into the wash cycle regardless of the size of the load
The drain cycles and spin cycles work just fine.
So something is shorting out but what...
Finally found it
It seems that the connector joining the wire from the aquastop valve to the rest of the electrics was loose/faulty. Fiddling around in that area, plugging, unplugging and a bit of bending of the contacts and everything now works fine.
Thanks to all those that participated.
