    Thought as much, thanks. I will remove the frame as best as I can without completely knackering the MDF, and will see if the MDF corrects itself. If it does, I will make a thinner frame for both sides. If not, new MDF with framing each side....more money....doh...

    I did see the black adaptor picture you posted, as I had done a search before. The plug on the extractor however is the one I have pictured in the album below and would not fit the adaptor you pictured. Perhaps there are other adaptors?

    And I should just add that a fully registered sparkie rewired the kitchen about 3 years ago and the mains cable for the extractor is a designated cable for the extractor.

    Thanks, that's easier then. I think this runs at 230v so I thought it would be ok, but just wanted to check. It doesn't actually say anything in the manual.
