thanks for the above! So in a nutshell I can do the work myself as long it will conform to part p whether or not I am a 'fully' qualified electrician. Thanks for clearing this up-I am way past doing sparky work for other people but like to do my own.

Thanks for responding-will the BI look at the existing wiring as well? Or is it restricted to the new build?

Hi,first post here-excellent site! First off I qualified as an electrician about 17 years ago passing C&G 236 part 1&2 with those 2 practical exams as well (AM1 & AM2??).16 years ago I joined the police force! With part P in force I fully realise that you have to be a competent person etc...
