    Sun Room Roof Guttering

@catlad Thanks for coming back to me. I was thinking the same. I just couldn't believe it would have been installed like this, it really looks like there should be something there! Cutting and flashband seems like a good solution. I'v not used it but will it be ok sealing the polycarb to the...

    Sun Room Roof Guttering

Hi all, Recently purchased and moved into a late 80s house with a 'Sun Room` extension. During the bad weather I noticed rain water was running down the sliding doors, seemingly on the inside of the guttering. More recently the white metal facia blew off and I can see more clearly the obvious...

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

@stem and @Johnmdc Thanks for the responses all sorted and very simple issue. For completeness, the red wire that runs to the boiler's pump live was incorrectly wired with the boilers switched live and as a result was keeping the boiler on indefinitely. Thermostat calls for heat, boiler...

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

Hi @stem Thanks for the response I think I have found part of the issue. Originally I had the orange wire wired into (8) of wiring centre along with the switched live of the boiler, the pump (also housed in the airing cupboard), the boiler pump live and the cylinder thermostat 1. I removed...

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

@CBW I rewired the whole thing today, every wire out (swapped the yellow and earth cables int he heatlink) and rewired checking for solid connections but have the same issue. I noticed today that on the HW heatlink terminals 4 + 6, I was getting 240v on both when the HW was supposed to be off...

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

@CBW Yes thats right, pull the cable out of HL 3 and it both has 240v and the boiler is still going. It looks a bit like everything is in the right place so i think I will just go through and do a rewire make sure everything is making contact properly I will swap out the cable as suggested...

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

Hi Jackthom, Red from Heatlink goes to (4) in the wiring centre, which is bridged to (5) replacing the old thermostat, where the white wire of the 3 port valve is. Cheers

Nest Thermostat wont stop calling for heat (Y plan)

Hi all, I have just completed a rewire in my house and as part of that I moved the wiring for the boiler and nest heat link into/next to the wiring centre in the airing cupboard upstairs. Originally a I did a swap from drayton lp522 to nest, as part of that I redid the wiring centre with the...

Swapping out a British Gas UP1L for a NEST 3rd Generation Thermostat

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. When you say wiring centre, this will be some point where the cabling form the tank (pumps, thermostat and value) and the boiler all congregate?

Swapping out a British Gas UP1L for a NEST 3rd Generation Thermostat

I know this is an old post but i have the exact same situation. I have a wired thermostat and am curious where these normally wire back to. would you expect them to go direct to the boiler or to the British Gas UP1L controller? Is there a good way to trace these wires? Many Thanks
