    Pipe under stairs

That would make sense given its location. What is the best way to be sure?

    Pipe under stairs

This may be an impossible task, but can anyone identify what the upright pipe under my stairs might be? Trying to turn this into a useable space and would ideally like to remove the pipe. 20220207_190309 by robj1 posted 9 Feb 2022 at 12:35 PM Best wishes Rob

Installating flue - Wood Burning Stove

The stack goes through the centre of the house, not on an external wall, so I was thinking without vermiculite would be fine. Thoughts? Do you think the internal dents/lifting are fine then? It's for strictly wood burning if that makes any difference?

    Upstairs Laundry Room

Oh, just to add, to get a washing machine upstairs, and mine is a heavy one (80kg), we wrapped it in 2 blankets, put it on its side, and slid it up. One person pulling, one person pushing, and it slid up our carpeted stairs as fast as walking. Not a huge amount of effort involved and far easier...

    Upstairs Laundry Room

Just a quick update - I prepared the room, but didn't apply any sound proofing at all to the floor. I thought I would give it a go without anything at all and work from there as a comparison. Turns out, without anything at all, it sounds like a distant helicopter at full spin, and no sounds at...

    Upstairs Laundry Room

I think I will try it without the lintel supports I have suggested to start with, and see how it goes. Might get some stable mat to cover the floor for added vibration absorption.
