Top render fell off wall after 24 hours of applying scratch coat. Should it have been 48 hours?

Sadly yes as he'd undertaken to return. Didn't have his address but debt company found him in 2 mins. Now going to court. Job now done by experimented guy who knew our 1910 house needed lime, not cement. Took 4 weeks though with all the various curing stages.

Top render fell off wall after 24 hours of applying scratch coat. Should it have been 48 hours?

Many thanks blup I've had to reconsider one aspect of my enquiry after since noticing an earlier comment referring to softened render. I've come to learn the reason for 2 coats in less than 24 hours was due to him rushing to jobs else were in each day's afternoon. Although we'd agreed a primer...

Top render fell off wall after 24 hours of applying scratch coat. Should it have been 48 hours?

I hired a guy recommended by my window cleaner to render 2 upper outside walls in cement/sand whilst we were away. Received a message that the top coat had slippe off after being applied morning after scratch coat applied morning before. Both wall s are soft Cheshire clay commons. Render has...

Can Planning Authority revoke 'sign off' where applicant undertakes 'further development' specifically excluded from the permit

Thanks StephenOak for your confirmation. I spoke with the LAP next to my county to retain my 'Harry Cloak'. It informs me it awaits such concerned representative before expending an investigation on noncompliant development. I've also come to understand the 4 year rule which appears to be on the...

Can Planning Authority revoke 'sign off' where applicant undertakes 'further development' specifically excluded from the permit

Many thanks jono-h That's clear....it's for me to specify to Planning the aspects I consider are either stated as banned or not compliant with the issued permission. Time to contact the Planning Manager I know by name and past contact. He happen to approve the OUT permission.

Can Planning Authority revoke 'sign off' where applicant undertakes 'further development' specifically excluded from the permit

I've presumed, from my experience with an integral garage/shower room/ bedroom I had built, that an inspection is carried out by a planning officer to check if it's compliant with all the conditions set out in the approval as well as checking for complacency on building regs. That this...

Can Planning Authority revoke 'sign off' where applicant undertakes 'further development' specifically excluded from the permit

Many thanks, mikeey84; seems logical to me...should have thought of that example. Thanks again

Can Planning Authority revoke 'sign off' where applicant undertakes 'further development' specifically excluded from the permit

The developing company building on a plot I sold has driven a 'coach & horses' through the permit in turning an indoor terrace into living space, thereby removing this as an essential feature due to limited outdoor space; has also constructed an elevated decking platform as compensation as well...

Baxi Solo HE self shutting down a week after new flow switch installed

Already in train...just thought I'd ask other experts who might have a view/experience of this situation.

Baxi Solo HE self shutting down a week after new flow switch installed

Just had a new flow switch fitted by my regular regulated engineer. Working fine for a few days but is now shutting down after a few minutes of ignition. There's a swooshing sound coming from the pipe runs when working. I've attempted several bleeds across my 19 rads which seemed to fix the...

    Jamming Honeywell valve?

Many thanks Rob. Boiler's due for a service so will get my regular guy to check. Just thought it might've been a loose wire point I could handle. Thanks again - Roger

    Jamming Honeywell valve?

I changed a two port valve head with replacement 40003916 just 13 months ago. Recently, I've found our Baxi Solo HE boiler stops burning after an hour or so, leaving just one green light, which eventually lights the other green +blinking red. Checking live feeds, the grey wire confirms being OK...

    Bathroom plasterboard suggestions please.

I used standard 12.5mm Foil Lined plasterboard onto tanalised batons, giving the outer face just one coat of dryline sealer, before tilling with water resistant adhesive. 2 coats not recommended as this could reduce tile adhesion . However, I ensured to use concrete boards on all surfaces open...

    Problem with Horstmann HRFS1 (RFT1) (T50)

My old Horstman HRFS-1 needed replacing as it was no longer switching to the valve even with the green light showing. Have just installed replacement of same model with resulting problem that as soon as the stat causes the green light to ignite, it and the adjacent red light start flashing in...
