A friend of mine said he used matt varnish but had problems when brushing over chalk paint. Said it was like the 2 paints were mixing when he was brushing over chalk paint? Not sure what he meant really. I'll look into the polyvine though. Never heard of it before.

I totally agree with bringing the wife up into the 21 century. lol Its not the bulb that i need to replace but the glass shade that goes over it. Looking to replace 1 but if not replace all 8. cheers

It's from focus who closed down in 2011. If there's anywhere to get alternative glass shades I'm happy to get 8 new ones. It's just the wife loves the light.
