    Smart meters - who knew?

indeed they are, but their marketing is all about monitoring ‘your usage’ at a glance, my point is that if the device you look at to do the monitoring stops working (I just get a black screen, like it’s not on), and they don’t or rather replace or fix it - then the ability to monitor use hits a...

    Smart meters - who knew?

At least they’re replacing yours, I’m told I just can’t have one unless it broke during the 12 month g/tee period.

    Smart meters - who knew?

I’m with British Gas for gas & electric. For months they pestered me to get a smart meter and eventually I gave in. That was 4 years ago. now the “in-home device” (the thing you monitor in your living room or wherever) has stopped working. I contacted BG and to my surprise was told “tough”...

    New windows and condensation

indeed they do, I only used it the other day to ensure the room was dry (based on what people had said in this thread), after several hours it barely collected a cup full, and this is a powerful one. Normally it is not often used, usually only when carpet cleaning in early spring.

    New windows and condensation

mid summer. Plus we have used the dehumidifier for several hours the other day. I doubt emulsion paint would be still hanging around, or at least I’d hope not!

    New windows and condensation

decorating was basically filling a few areas around the windows where existing plaster had been chipped, a new bedroom door & frame, some skirting that had previously got bashed with furniture and hoovers and painting .

    New windows and condensation

I omitted to say that I had run a damp meter around about a week after installation when we redecorated the room. All was ok and the walls looked good. Nothing wrong with the ceiling or floor (apart from one annoying creaky floorboard!). So it does seem a complete mystery, I’m thinking of...

    New windows and condensation

We actually ran our dehumidifier for about five hours before vacating the room. There is absolutely no signs of damp anywhere. The room is above the living room. Our roof had to be replaced last August ( in hot sunny weather), hence the plenty of insulation. The only down side to this house is...

    New windows and condensation

OK so taking on-board the advice about not breathing while in bed! :) We decided to swap bedrooms last night……. Woke this morning but our bedroom window was still covered in condensation! The room we slept in was ok (and I assure you we did breathe). I should add, we are not aware of any heavy...

    New windows and condensation

we get it inside and out! I am aware that when it’s outside, that shows that the windows are doing there job. Basically the whole of the inside of the window is covered (which is 6ft x 3ft approx) up to about a couple of inches from the top and all the way along the top. Also possibly worth...

    New windows and condensation

Funny thing is, I’ve just walked down our road and none of the other houses have this problem

    New windows and condensation

Had the whole house double glazed a couple of months ago, with upvc frames. Now it’s getting colder I’ve noticed that in the morning we get condensation on the inside of our bedroom window. The rest of the house has it on the outside. We’ve not put the heating on yet. Not had this with our old...
