    Shower Power Booster

Where do you place it and what is it plugged into? Just above the outlet you're looking to boost or above the cylinder? Assume it's the former otherwise it would kick in for all outlets on that pipe.

    Shower Power Booster

Anyone had any experience with these? They cost about £150 and reportedly a lot simpler to install than a normal shower pump.

    Hanging shower frame off plasterboard

I've come to install the shower enclosure and realised that one walls is a stud wall, but the studs are not in the right place to be able to secure the frame to. I'm thinking of removing some sections of the wall and fitting some noggins in to provide support, then patching it back up. Any...

    Fixing pearlstone shower tray

The only issue is is that the bottom of the tray is not quite flush with the bottom rim of the tray towards the trap, which means there will be a slight gap between the plinth base and the underside of the tray (except the rim), and therefore the adhesive won't bridge the gap adequately. Is this...

    Fixing pearlstone shower tray

I have a pearlstone shower tray I need to fix to a raised timber base in an upstairs bathroom. It's very heavy. I've used 18mm osb3 instead of ply as the base, as I had a load left. Does this matter? Also, do you really need to fix it with cement based adhesive, or can you just use some decent...

Shower options for gravity fed system

Anyone used a showerpowerbooster? They seem to be a lot easier to install than standard pumps. Fyi here is a pic of my bath shower in the same room running at standard 38 degrees, as you can see it's sluggish but doesn't need too much more to make it sufficient.

Shower options for gravity fed system

Hello, I'm looking at installing a shower cubicle in an upstairs bathroom, and just wondering what the options are for the shower itself as it's a gravity fed system. I put a standard mixer shower into the bath, but the flow isnt very good (presumably because there just isnt enough of a drop...

    Preventing penetrating damp

Yes i have checked underneath and left the panel off for a good few weeks and there is no leak. First thing first, how to seal the broken soil pipe? Is there a bandage you can get which you then apply resin over or something?

    Preventing penetrating damp

I have damp coming in underneath a shower tray and I'm fairly certain it's coming in from directly outside where there is a leak in the soil pipe which the shower and basin empty into directly outside (I can see water leaking from the pipe when the tap is on, it must be seeping through the...

    Damp under shower tray

Hi, In the summer I installed a shower room in a single storey single brick pantry, which is attached to my victorian semi-detached house. The floor was already concrete and the walls are single brick skin. I doubled up the wall thickness with battened PIR board followed by tiles. The shower...

    1/2 inch nut without olive

How does the female bit create a secure fitting, if there is no olive?

    1/2 inch nut without olive

I bought a thermostatic valve like the one pictured but the hot and cold inlets do not have a typical compression fitting. What I was expecting was to be able to use a standard olive and nut compression fitting to connect my water supply to , but if you look at the inlets there is no groove for...

    Condensation under shower tray

I installed a shower tray raised up on batons and a OSB platform above a concrete floor. I recently took off the panel to find a lot of condensation underneath. I can't see any evidence of any leak. Is it possible that moisture is rising up through the concrete? It's unlikely that there is a...

    Warm baton method for insulation

On that, is it worth me cement rendering the outside? It's only a single storey small wall, and will prevent penetrating damp. Or are single skin walls meant to be left bare?

    Warm baton method for insulation

Why would interstitial damp still not come through ? Surely if moisture reaches the inner leaf it'll condensate based on whether it's hitting a warm surface, regardless of void?
