    FCU Wiring/Spur

Thanks guys for your help on the previous query. I have another question regarding extending the light in the 2nd shed room. The picture shows the current layout of how electrics were done in the shed room. So inside the bathroom as mentioned previously the 1.5mm white flex comes from the 13A...

    FCU Wiring/Spur

Thanks for all your help, everyone. I went to the effort of drawing how it looked in terms of the wiring to help make everyone understand further but I guess reading all the latest comments I didn’t perhaps needed to. Excuse the poor drawing!

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@ SUNRAY - Sorry i'm not understanding what you mean? Would it help if i told you how things were wired before the new 13A FCU was installed...is that what you mean?

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@pete01 - I just switched off the new installed 13A FCU which is spurred from a kitchen socket. When I turn this off, the FCU next to it (Boiler 3A) switches off as well as anything else in the shed – lights, saniflo etc.

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@ SUNRAY - for the blue part, do you mean how the shed cable was wired inside the 13A fcu?

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@pete01 - The supply came from one of the kitchen sockets into the 13A fcu. What left from that 13A fcu is two cables, one going to the shed, and the other going into another 3A fcu (boiler one)….obviously that supplies the boiler.

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@ SUNRAY - thanks for your advice. As the supply is coming from one of the kitchen sockets, to do it your way would have required chasing and ripping out units etc…which is perhaps why it was done the way my diagram showed. This is why I posted to see if it’s done correctly or not…because...

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@securespark - I checked the white flex wire going into the shed…could barely read it but it says g 1.5mm 300/500 V. That should be ok for 13A right?

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@Murdochcat - what way would you have done this?

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@Murdochcat - as long as its allowed?

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@securespark - do you mean that white cable going to the shed? its quite thick. I need to check the rating of the wire.

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@pete01 - The shed only has a toilet, saniflo (which requires electic), one light and extractor fan. As mentioned before, the builder initially took the supply directly from the 3A Boiler FCU…but when saniflo was added, perhaps saniflo requires more electric so perhaps why he installed 13A FCU...

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@pete01 - The first FCU (13A new installed one which is spurred from a kitchen socket), if you switch this off, then the shed supply gets cut off and the boiler FCU (3A one) turns off also.

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@Murdochcat - Perhaps my diagram didn’t explain properly. Existing layout: A wire 2.5mm is spurred from one of the kitchen sockets (in a ring) to an FCU used by the boiler (3A). So, if you turn of that FCU then yes, the boiler will turn off. But in the new way laid out, I believe the...

    FCU Wiring/Spur

@Murdochcat - One online video states that if you add an FCU then you could connect many sockets after that. Is FCU not another socket?
