Joining soil of 2 different levels

Yes the main bathroom one is the one coming down, it goes into the main centre channel. The current downstairs toilet (which will be decommisioned) is used less frequently I'd say, especially for lengthy reading!! The chamber is 300mm with slightly adjustable fittings...

Joining soil of 2 different levels

Thanks all for your reply and help. @^woody^ The gully and upstairs toilet were together before and were fine, so hopefully not. Is there any way to reduce the likelyhood of that happening?

Joining soil of 2 different levels

Thanks for your responses, I had a 45 and an adjustable bend so I tried this morning to see how it would work out. Sadly I was boxed in by a few things, the depth of the manhole was determined by the clay existing pipe which is not possible to make lower. The soil pipe coming out the house...

Joining soil of 2 different levels

Thank you. So is it ok for the fall to be a bit more than than usual over that short distance?

Joining soil of 2 different levels

Thanks for your detailed reply. Unfortunately if I put 2 90 degrees together to form a drop the level would be too low to join the manhole, even if I took the pipe back to the wall. Even the drop of 1 90 degree would be pushing it.

Joining soil of 2 different levels

Hi, I have a new pipe for a downstairs toilet (where it has moved over) joining a manhole. The height of where the soil pipe emerges from the house cannot be lowered because of pipes and other obstructions on the inside. In the picture you can see the orange circles indicate where the pipes...

Leaking airspa jets in a bath

We have a Better bathrooms Duo Airspa Bath which has 12 'airspa' jets at the bottom. Unfortunately a couple of these jets have started to leak. The bath is wedged in and tiled in so it would be a very big job to replace which would be the optimal solution. While the jets are not easily...

Any one use or heard of jet swets?

Someone mentioned in passing using jet swets to block off the water in a pipe for soldering, changing valves etc Seemed like a handy tool, I've had a look and they seem quite expensive, just wondering if any has experience of them and has an opinion either way...

    Wickes ballast

Random question about building materials, does anyone know how much the wickes ballast bags like this weigh: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Tarmac-Ballast---Major-Bag/p/131880# The local merchants seem more expensive for single bags like these but they list them as 25kg. just wondered whether it...

    Driveway gates in concrete

Indeed, I think it’s because they’re aluminium and it doesn’t react well with concrete. The posts have a base plate with pre-drilled holes already welded in place ready for mounting.

    Driveway gates in concrete

I'm about to replace my old 5 bar gate with a pair of aluminium gates. The posts need to be bolted down. As the current surface is soil I need to lay a slab either side for the posts to go on. Any ideas how big the slab should be? or how to go about sizing them? The gates are about 2m...

    Earthing system

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it does emerge from the wrapping, cant get a better photo because of how close to the wall it is. It's a piece of metal duct under the consumer unit that they all the wires are fed into the CU. No sign of the floorboards one near the gas meter or stopcock.

    Earthing system

This is where no.2 goes, to the main consumer unit This is no5, to the economy 7 meter No. 1 - This goes to the main incoming cable, comes out of the wrapped incoming cable. The one going below the floorboards (3) I can't get to at the moment. No. 4 follows the SWA cable to the garage...
