obviously, the extension was signed off by Building Control (Building Regs), so I'm assuming they checked both the beam and the foundations)

no sign of cracking on the outside, but the internal cracks are at a level which on the outside is obscured by the single storey extension roof (so we can't really tell). Thanks

The rsj was calculated by a structural engineer. I don't know the size off hand. I will investigate.

we had a single storey extension built a year ago (extending our lounge out), and last week large cracks appeared in the bedroom wall above the RSJ put in as part of this extension work (so in the old bedroom wall that the new extension sloping roof joins onto). One of the cracks is so big/wide...
