    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Well, so much for new parts, a possible new boiler or any other expensive remedy... A ferroli engineer has just left having done about an hours work on it... tested it all, checked the PCB and then cleaned it all out... the fan was just full of crap! Fires up instantly, piping hot water...

    Recommendation for a Replacement Boiler...

Would want the new boiler to fit in a cupboard, but should mention that the size of cupboard is flexible... The intended site for said boiler is in a corner of the kitchen, where I can use a custom fitted cupboard, so size probably isn't as much of a factor is it would for some people.

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

The fan does seem to start... When I follow the sequence to start it, (switch CH to "always on", put thermostat on full, then press ignition knob after 20 seconds), there is a hum when the water pump starts for the CH, then a different hum when the fan appears to start. I know I need a new...

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Tony, you seem very keen to trip me up on matters concerning my boiler. I understand that you take your job very seriously, but I am no idiot. I am not changing my "story" at all... I have no reason to change my "story" as I am a grown man with nobody to answer to but myself. My point was...

    Recommendation for a Replacement Boiler...

Thanks for the concern guys, but the boiler will be fitted in accordance with all regulations etc and will go through the books of my friend's company and the work will be fully covered by an extremely professional company (very highly regarded in the North West), as I've already stated. It...

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Maybe... but surely that's not the cause of the failure in the first place? New boiler on the way ASAP...

    Recommendation for a Replacement Boiler...

It will be my friend's brother that fits it. He's got all sorts of Corgi registered qualifications, as well as being a fully qualified electrician, so there's no worries there in the slightest. i trust him implicitly and he won't charge the earth. He can legitimately supply any certificate...

    Recommendation for a Replacement Boiler...

Whether my new boiler gets fixed or not, I'll be in the market for a new boiler in the next few months... Any advice on what to go for? I have a small-mid sized 3 bed semi, built 1923 with 7 rads and I want/need a combi. Fire off your suggestions with reasons... I'm hopefully going to...

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Looks like I'm lashing out for a new boiler then... smashing! There's no clicking when I press the pilot light ignition. The fan seems to be kicking in about 20 seconds after the pump starts up for the CH.

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Should mention that when it happened before, a good slap cured it for the rest of winter! Also, the CH pressure is fine... I've tried it at every pressure from 1 bar to 3 bar and am now on 1.5 as per instructions!

    Ferroli FF77... Knackered??!!??

Hi guys, Newbie here so be gentle... Had a few probs with the above combi boiler... Firstly the HW and CH kept failing to come on when either a tap was on or the CH switched on. A good firm slap generally got it going and it was fine... however today it wouldn't stay on when slapped...

    Ferrolli not 'firing' up

I have a similar problem with mine... I hear the fan start up, then most of the time nothing happens. If I give the front of the boiler a slap with the palm of my hand it fires up straight away. Any ideas what the cause is? and more so, why it will work after a bit of "percussive...
