Taken me a while to localise this problem. When individual taps in the house are turned on I can get a water hammer effect which is always in the stretch of pipe leading to a hot water tap in the bathroom. The tap being turned on can be random and sometimes it doesn't cause the water hammer but...
I have a bath mixer tap. When I flip lever so that water flows through the main tap there is no problem. When I flip lever so water is redirected through the shower hose there is no problem with hot water but there is water hammer when use the cold. It lasts about three to four seconds then...
That's great thanks, why isn't with the boiler in the garage. So should be able to turn both taps at either end of the braided pipe until the black and red needle are together or at 1.5 pressure ?
The upright pipe from the top end of the braided pipe goes to a T junction one end of which goes to the big tap with the label attached. The bottom end of the braided pipe goes to the stop cock coming into the house.
It all started with noisy pipes when taps turned on. Then noticed while bleeding rads that upstairs rads not hiss air or leak water when not in use but did fill with water when heating on. Noticed that gauge on boiler in garage reading low pressure as in picture. Online research suggests I'm...
Recent development, the hot water flow from bath mixer tap is poor. Temperature is fine and there are no problems with hot water flow anywhere else in the house. Cold water flow not affected. My opinion is that it might be build up of sediment somewhere between the shut off valve and the tap itself.
