I'm not an alarm engineer - but I've dabbled with them over the years for friends and family. I've just installed a decent texecom premier elite 24 with 3 keypads, 1 expander and 2 bells and even a comIP (finally got this working!!) - using nearly all the zones from a mix of PIRs, shocks, DC's...
I've got 2 viper GLX+ - but turned out we didn't need the door contact part in the end - so i've put a bridge over the reed part - seems to work, but I don't suppose there is a link instead to bridge it is there on the unit?
i was thinking more of that horror film - can't think what it was called, but involved a girl home alone and then the alarm announced which doors had opened "front door open" "back door open" - thought that was a good idea!
I asked that same question to texecom today - the COMIP uses parts that are older in the field and more expensive to produce - with WIFI the parts are cheaper as they are well known and used, hence the price drop!
They strongly suggested to go with comIP where possible - its a more perm...
its been a nightmare! - spent hours yesterday trying to get the thing working, and again today, and finally got texe support to talk me through, they agreed in the end the unit must be faulty - "never known a faulty comIP" they quickly added. But in fairness - the support guys are great...
Hi All.
Hoping for some advice before I call texecom tomorrow. Spent several hours this evening getting a Prem Elite 24 up and running.
3 keypads, 1 expander - all working fine!
I've the comIP - and plugged that into 3 different routers (non of which have broadband - we are waiting for the...
I guess this is a simple question..
When programming wintex for the first time, I'm getting a little confused on how I configure the panel to behave on different arming...
Appreciate area A & B but I plan on setting all the kit on area A
For example, on full set I want the usual front door on...
another question - electric garage door - i'm sure the supplier said the motor can give an open/closed circuit for alarms - could I wire the door on a DC, and then the motor on another zone to "zone omit" the door DC? I'm sure I read something about this (texe prem elite 24)
Sorry Sparky I've not posted a picture yet - i've not been to the house this week yet, but will be there at the weekend (its a kind of new build!) and will snap some pics.
Thanks for the advice too eightytwo - i'm almost certain even a short screw will cause the door mech problems, plus the...
I have a challenge for the mighty of you all!
I've dropped a 6 core for each set of bifold doors. I can't screw into the frame as it will stop the door from fully closing and think it will be the same issue screwing the other half of the DC on the moving parts of the door.
Does anyone have...
I don't suppose you know where I could get a decent flush mounted ceiling speaker do you? We've gone for the chrome flush mounted RKP to give the kit a high end finish - but the speakers are all a little cheap looking!
I assume I could use a normal speaker if its 16ohms?
