thanks everyone for the repies, i have sealed (for now) with silicon sealent the waste pipe round the edge to see if that stops the smells coming through. fingers crossed. :)

i have a smelly downstairs toilet which is unbearable. the drains have been cleared and checked. the toilet is always clean and flushed at least once a day and yet the smell keeps emmitting from the wc.
what is going on and how can i sort this out.

i ahve bought the v groove clip together laminate and am about to do under the door. i ahve removed the jambs but i cannot get the boards to clip and slide under. i have read that i should remove the groove and glue.
Is this the best or only alternative?

So i'll be removing the skirting. Should i remove all the skirting then? what is the be way to do this without damaging it, and getting out the nails and then putting it back on.

i was going to use a jamb cutter, multi-tool etc, rater than remove the skirting board because i just know it'll either snap or the plaster will break away. Wasn't keen on using beading partly because of the prices and the fact that i'm pretty sh*t at intricate cuts.

Have read that i'll need to remove at least on of the skirting boards to fit my laminate flooring. Why? Why can't I just cut away at the bottom so i can slide the laminate under it?
