ok will have a look, it has not been taped off or folded, it just looks like it has been cut off. no it didnt work properly before, you couldnt turn the light on and off with the ceiling switch.

on the wall switch there is nothing in L2, in L1 there is a black wire and in the Com is the grey wire (covering over the red). The red wire is not in use.
