how can i tell if my sockets are ring or radial??

adding a cooker hood in kitchen. want to come off a socket but the nearest and most convenient socket is a spur off the ring main. I know that this is not allowed but would it be ok if I added a 3 amp FCU for the cooker hood? Hope someone can help

the cooker circuit is 6mm. my ring main is 2mm/2.5mm
