    Thanks for your reply. The electrics can be switched off, at the mains obviously but the cooker has it's own supply. We had a gas cooker there until we renewed the kitchen in 2005 so the gas supply to the cooker was capped. I have testers but have only used them when renewing sockets or...

    I'm replacing with a gas hob that will sit in the same gap above the built-in double oven. I know that I need a qualified gas fitter to connect the new hob but will save money by removing the ceramic hob first. Can anyone advise please?

    Hi, Can anyone tell me how to fix the rear wiper please? I can hear the electrics working but the wiper arm was 'pulled', shall we say, by some lovely 'youths' (ahem...) and hangs at a funny angle now. Thanks
