Remove an Old Friedland Doorbell Chime - how to wire?

What I did was disconnect the chime, pull the cables back through the wall into the garage by the transformer, then just simply connect the doorbell wires to the transformer, as they were long enough, rather than joining the chime wires etc. So chime has gone and new ring din transformer is in...

Remove an Old Friedland Doorbell Chime - how to wire?

Hey folks, I am replacing an old doorbell transformer in the garage with a new Ring version. The ring version has output + and - and input L and N Now, I am assuming, the L and N come from the existing isolation switch underneath existing which is currently in the old transformer. And + and...

Light fixture fitted - only 1 of 3 bulbs light up?!

Well just to update - put a normal switch in - works fine! It was double confusing as the light was on a dimmer beforehand, I just didn't think the other dimmer switch was any different, they were both chrome ones, but obviously that one was a lot older / didn't support LED. Mystery solved...

Light fixture fitted - only 1 of 3 bulbs light up?!

It's very strange, because the bulbs that were in there, were the ones that were working beforehand. I'm not sure whether they dimmed or not, the only difference would be the dimmer switch is different to the dimmer switch in lounge I guess but I'll bring dimmable bulbs tomorrow to rule that...

Light fixture fitted - only 1 of 3 bulbs light up?!

Hey folks, changed a light fixture for my parents today, it was a working one from the dining room which was going to be fitted in the lounge. I fitted it, but stupidly the light was one of those ones were you can barely see the colour as they're almost transparent plastic casing, anyhow I...

Ceiling rose removal to "normal" connection?

In the same room, the other light rose indeed looks different

Ceiling rose removal to "normal" connection?

Ah, if it helps that particular light has two switches one from either side of the room - that could explain it? I'll probably keep the wagos dangling and hidden by the new fixtures "surround"

Ceiling rose removal to "normal" connection?

Hey folks, about to undertake the first of many of these around the house over time. New light is double insulated. So would I be right in saying. Furthest left 2 black wires, go into 3 way wago, with the new light neutral going into the 3rd slot. Middle 2 red wires, terminated in a 2 way...

    AIB or Wood?!

Yeah this is it, i'll have to get this removed professionally, will obviously test first, but I am 99.9% sure as well that it's likely AIB - which means the little storm porch thing we have also has it (as it looks very similar!) that's only a small area so I wouldn't imagine too expensive, but...

Has the boiler fitter bypassed our water softener???

They did say they would bypass it to fill the boiler - as you say they likely then forgot to re-close it - I am pretty sure last time I closed that tap we had no water in the house but i'll double check tonight!

Has the boiler fitter bypassed our water softener???

Ahh - So I may need to close that tap instead! It's a WB 4000 30kW Combi
