I myself cant understand why a person doing diy suddenly thinks I haven't got a drain off....must fit one.. Is there a reason and if there is what are you expecting to do given limited knowledge sorry not being clever just wondering why

If it only leaks when the shower is on its got to be down to the tiling unless its constant

What looks like is happening is with the washing machine pumping the water out of the machine, it is pushing she water out of the trap so this is why you are getting smells. As for the water backfilling you must have a slight blockage somewhere after the trap

Why would you need a drain off in the first place ? If you couldn't do something simple like draining a heating system you shouldn't as Kev said buy ****e

Is the flow pipe from the boiler getting hot at all ?

Is that a vaillant ecotec 24 or a worcester 24i

Just replace the valve will only cost a tenner or so
