It turned out it wasn't giving any hot water, for the last few days before having it repaired I needed to turn on the immersion heater to get any hot water

Yeah I got it sorted, the gas engineer found that the condensate drain was blocked. He cleaned the drain, gave the boiler a service and charged me £60 which was well worth it for the hassle it was causing!

Thanks for the replies. Yes, all the radiators but the hallway have TRV's installed and all are fully open. The 2 port valves seem fine, when the heating has demand, the manual override on the valve moves freely and when the demand for heating is stopped you can hear the valve closing.
