    Attaching Raised decking to house.

Do you think these ones will do. http://www.screwfix.com/p/multi-fix-silver-multi-fix-masonry-bolts-14-x-100mm-pack-of-10/62090 Was thinking of placing one every 30-40 cm. one at the top next one at the bottom of the beam.

    Attaching Raised decking to house.

Never even thought about masonry bolts. I read that its a bad idea to have the wood connect with break due to possible damp issues. THe whole thing will be below the damp course though.

    Attaching Raised decking to house.

HI everyone, i am currently planning some raised decking which will attach to the backside of my house. I was thinking about using expanding bolts to attach the back frame to the building, with washers in between to stop contact between brick and wood. What i want to know is if this is the usual...

    post depth

Hi everyone I have a 2 m pressurised wooden post I want to sink into the ground and surround with cement. Does anyone know how far into the ground I should go so the post is stable? I was thinking 400mm. Also will surrounding in cement help with stopping the post rotting under the ground? Thanks

    Raised Decking PRoject

Yeah I guess I'll have to go down one of those routes. May talk to the neighbour also see what they think. As per my original postt. When I get around to building the deck does my approach sound correct?

    Raised Decking PRoject

Would I have to raise the level of the whole garden? Or just the area under the decking. It's a pretty big garden you see.

    Raised Decking PRoject

Yeah sure. So as you can see the steps coming down. The idea is to build it up level with the bottom of the door, where the top step rests now.

Yeah exactlyy 50cm take it to the plastic lip under the door Not to sure why they are so high.. It's steps down and the rest of the garden is at that level.

    Raised Decking PRoject

I It would be roughly 50 cm off the ground which would bring it level with the back door and patio door. Does it all hinge on neighbours potentially complaining?

    Raised Decking PRoject

I see, so if i didnt get the permission, i run the risk of a neighbour complaining about ti for whatever reason and then having to pull it down?

    Raised Decking PRoject

Thanks for the reply, No i wasnt aware of that. The doors to the back of my house are raised off the floor already, the decking will run to the level of the doors, does this still count in the 30cm rule? The decking will be less than 15% coverage.
