It's a Salus RT300 Digital Electronic Thermostat. Battery operated.
There are two volt free contacts to connect to.
The 3 & 4 you suggest is, as you'll know, where the wire loop is.

I've just got a battery operated digital thermostat and need to connect it to my combi-boiler.
I assume the two wires, (L & N, it does not require an earth), from the thermostat connect to the terminal inside the boiler casing. I just need to know what terminals I should connect to...
