Hi.

I've just got a battery operated digital thermostat and need to connect it to my combi-boiler.

I assume the two wires, (L & N, it does not require an earth), from the thermostat connect to the terminal inside the boiler casing. I just need to know what terminals I should connect to.

The terminal has nine connections.
They are 7 8 9 L N E 3 4 5

Boiler power is obviously connected to L N E. There is a short brown wire connecting 3 & 4.

What terminal should I connect the thermostat L N to.

Thanks for any advice.

You connect to 3 and 4 on the boiler.

You haven't told us which stat you have bought but I very much doubt it has L and N connections. The connections should simply be live in and live out through a switch.

If you have any doubts after reading the above, try telling us what you have bought.

Thanks for the reply.

It's a Salus RT300 Digital Electronic Thermostat. Battery operated.

There are two volt free contacts to connect to.

The 3 & 4 you suggest is, as you'll know, where the wire loop is.

Connect your two volt free contacts to 3 & 4.

Set the loop aside in the lid for maintenance purposes.
