Hi, thanks for your replies. Its an all elec single immersion heater. The cold has no tank it is straight out of the ground, through the meter and into the pipes lol

Ah, sorry, my experience is with separate wall mounted thermostats not the ones on the tanks/units.

Have you checked the thermostat, or is the house already above the temp on it? If you have to turn the temp right up to get it to fire it could be that its not reading the house temp properly, or it needs replacing.

Although i havent seen the ones you're looking for, I have some of the ones mentioned there from Argos and they are wall hangable and look better than the pics on Argos' website
