i think I’d have to cut all the doors / skirting if I put the boards on top.
it’s only for the landing so I’m fine with noggins / joist hangers.
Would the noggins need to be as thick as the original joists ? Or could I get away with 40x70 timber with hangers?
If the holes are not too badly damaged. Some new rawl plugs with existing screws should be fine. If the holes have widened, then you'll need the a bigger rawl plugs and screws to suit.
I've finally gotten around to tearing up the carpet and replacing the landing floorboards.
They're full of nails and staples so would take days to pull up and sand, plus the boards aren't in great condition.
The current boards are sideways but I'd prefer them longways - is there an easy way...
