    Intergas expansion vessel change issues

John - apologies - missed your reply re checking the EV air side pressure. Hadn't thought of that! Will do so when back on site.

    Intergas expansion vessel change issues

Ah, thanks! I got it the wrong way round. Not on site atm, so can't post a photo. The filling loop, going from memory, is permanently connected, going from cold potable to boiler flow. Having removed and replaced the prv without any water issues, I'm guessing the filling loop is not passing...

    Intergas expansion vessel change issues

John - the EV was pre-charged with nitrogen to 1.5 bar from new. I reduced that to 0.9bar as per Intergas advice. Am I allowed to recharge this (using air via a bike pump) back to 1.5 bar (or higher) as you say this will provide a greater operating margin? Your advice and experience here are...

    Intergas expansion vessel change issues

John, the EV was pre-charged to 0.9bar and the cold fill was then filled to the same pressure. These pressures were as per Intergas recommendations. Madrab - the existing 3/8 connector was removed from the valve and replaced with a brand new EV coupler at the same point. The EV coupler was an...

    Intergas expansion vessel change issues

Okay, I feel a bit of a plum here (not unusual) - my son's Intergas HSE 36/30 Compact boiler had the expansion vessel fail. After contacting Intergas for a quote (£490) he gave the job to me. As the expansion vessel is behind the boiler, replacing it would have been a boiler off the wall job -...

Vaillant Ecotec Plus slow to fire up

Thanks, John, it seems that my limited knowledge is seeing a problem that doesn't exist. Your clear answer makes perfect sense - and thus the boiler is working as it should. Do appreciate the time you have taken to share your knowledge - many thanks!

Vaillant Ecotec Plus slow to fire up

A strange problem - my central heating, although working, does not seem to be doing so correctly. The call for heat comes from a Drayton Digistat receiver. It shows all the correct lights (eg green for heat required) and I can clearly hear the relay clicking when I turn the RF thermostat...

    Drayton Wiser install

Jobs a good'un! Went real smooth thanks to you clarifying a few points for me. Only hitch was the set up App couldn't find the OpenTherm module. A call to Drayton revealed I had an old Firmware version on the hub - once updated, everything was fine. Really wouldn't have know about OpenTherm...

    Drayton Wiser install

Many thanks, sxturbo - you've pointed me in a useful direction - I wasn't aware of Opentherm before! Like you, I like to plan things in my head before starting (hence this post) so can I run a couple of things by you? On the Intergas - Firstly, all switching will be 24v? (which is the X4...

    Drayton Wiser install

I have been summoned to do the above by my son - thanks for that! - so need to check with the experts on here that I do the right thing. The boiler is an Intergas HSE combi controlled by a Drayton Digistat WR1 (nee SCR) receiver, which receives its instructions from a Drayton Digistat RF+2...

    Intergas...but which...

Anyone remember that idiot who posted on here not so long ago regarding, iirc, help with his daughters noisy boiler? Then ended up, in a delusional fashion, insulting all the regular posters on here in an increasingly aggressive manner? His signature pic had an ugly s*d with red hair in it -...

    Intergas...but which...

Just had to undo a couple of compression connectors. But Kamco have really thought this through and the kit comes with a myriad of different size/type of connectors. I was most impressed.
