i guess by bucks you mean judders / jumps. i'd check the basics first, plugs and leads. a faulty leads may cause a spark jump under load, which would cause it to miss but not all the time, also check your plugs, maybe worn or gaps not consistent across the plugs. I guess this is a zetec...

ah might be my mistake, i saw someone on ebay selling 8" stour's for making a larger back brick, but have found the correct ones at buildbase, which are made of fire clay but are normal brick sizes.

thanks for that i've seen the bricks i need which are 8" high so i'm going to put 2 of these high all the way round and set with fire cement.. Anything else i need to do?

i've seen that, made of thermalite i think, quite cheap on ebay, out of interest how far up should it go on the back wall? the fireplace is 30" by 20" approx, so the back wall is 30".

i've replaced them on an older fiesta 95 i think and all is pretty standard apart from ford calipers being held in with hex or star bolts, so a standard socket set will not remove the caliper bolts. it maybe different on your model, but worth checking first. you can pick up a set of these...
