recently had a Vaillant ecoFIT pure 825 installed, noticed this 'clicking' or 'popping' or 'snapping' sound and came across this thread
i've uploaded a video of it:
is this the same sound as what others have experienced?
i've noticed it only happens as the boiler is heating up/cooling down...
so i cut out all the failed mastic, cleaned it all up and applied lead sealant
i then coated the lead in Acrypol+
it looks a lot better but the Acrypol is a bit shiny... will it dull down over time?
thanks all for the help! they located it on the top left of the house (by the hopper) and brought it down behind the downpipe, so i've a nice clean cable-free house now!
thanks everyone for the replies
does anyone know how Openreach fix cables to walls/render?
my existing cables were all fixed with these, leading to cracks in the render/paint so i'd like to avoid that this time...
i have non-fibre installed at the moment. the current cable is marked by the red line below (it comes from a phone pole to the right of the image)
i have full fibre coming on Tuesday. i would like the engineer to remove the old cable (and the mastersocket it attaches to) and install the new...
less than a year old. is this a normal amount of vibration/rattling for a washing machine? see video here:
it only does this for ~5-10 mins at the end of a cycle
i've moved it around recently to get a door on it and can't remember if it vibrated this much beforehand
unrelated but there is a...
the paint on my bow window canopy (which i think is lead flashing?) is flaking/aesthetically displeasing... (see pics)
how would you go about repairing this? my plan was to remove all the flaking paint, and repaint it with something more suitable. but i'm not sure how easy it will be to remove...
thanks both. do you recommend any particular products/brands? found these:
Ronseal Wet Rot Wood Hardener 250ml
Ronseal High performance Natural Ready mixed Wood Filler, 280g
also, if you've any guides/videos you can point me to on how to identify and cut out rotten wood, I'd be grateful
Please see pics below. This window is on the ground floor so I have good access to it. Do I simply need to rub it down and prime it, before finishing with some exterior paint (any recommendations)?
As image shows, I don’t have a landline phone so I’d like to plug my router straight into my master socket without using a micro filter. Does anyone know if this is possible and how?
thanks. Where would I test them--would the backplate itself have voltage if it was live?
I'll have a look inside one of the sockets.
So there are no sockets on the other side of the skirting. Assume they're blanking plates that have been filled over/painted
