Soft close toilet seat - recommendations for one that stays up!

Thanks - the soft close versions all seem to be moulded wood, I'd rather have plastic. Also when I looked at the fitting video, there was defo no adjustment on the plastic ones. However, some of the reviews do say that they 'stayed up when others didn't' so maybe I'll give one a go - I can...

Soft close toilet seat - recommendations for one that stays up!

Thanks for that. I checked out the website, but the plastic soft close ones are not adjustable at all. The moulded wood ones are, but not sure I fancy these.... Did you recommend then as they don't need adjusting?

Soft close toilet seat - recommendations for one that stays up!

Hi everyone Can anyone recommend a white plastic one of these that is (more) adjustable front to back? My cistern is a) not quite square to the pan (the product of living in an old house with no true walls) and b) has a slight overhang on the cistern top cover. As a result, the new seat I've...

    Cordless drill 'running on'

Just an update - I did end up sending it back to Makita for repair (I have a spare so could manage without). Drill returned in working order within 5 days and all done for free (the drill is well out of warrantee!). I'm very impressed and this level of customer service would make me chose...

    Cordless drill 'running on'

Hi all Not sure what the technical term is, but I have a Makita cordless drill and I've noticed that it runs on a little after I have released the trigger. It doesn't do this all the time, but quite a lot of it. I'm sure this is not a good thing. Would be grateful if someone could explain...

    macerator discharge pipework

Thanks for the reply. Helpful to have your thoughts The route to go vertically up and then gently fall down would involve a quite few twists and turns, so can't see this would be great either - the option I am thinking about would not require these. And noted about the non return valve...

    macerator discharge pipework

Oh, think I might have answered my own question - found some instructions for another brand and it says 300mm max horizontal before vertical pipework. I'm trying to find a solution which would allow a fall of about 1 ft over 5m and THEN a vertical run - but maybe this can't be done?? PS...

    macerator discharge pipework

Hi everyone This might seem a dumb question, but does the discharge pipework for a toilet macerator have to go vertically up straight from the macerator or are you allowed to have a horizontal run before it does a vertical? And if so, is there a max distance and/or fall? I have looked on...

    Removing lights in house sale

No you don't need a qualified sparks to do this work. Also as the plastic pendants are plastic they don't require an earth so you don't even need to test for this. When new lights are put up an electrician should test for earth though - but this is the purchasers problem!

Hi all Hope you can help Please can you tell me what the general temps for the hot water and heating should be set at? Despite my room stat being set at 25, the rads don't seem to be very hot. It was serviced last week and I'm wondering if the settings were changed... I have a...

LED Downlights in Insulated Flat Roof

If the LED drivers are not allowed sufficient space for air to circulate they will over heat. I can tell you from experience - despite my protests a builder recently insisted I fit one LED light in a ceiling crammed with insulation - his view was the same as yours - not much heat generated...
