    What you need is a double pole isolating switch. not a one way which you have described. Im assuming the fuse supplying the circuit is a 6amp straight from the consumer unit. if not you need a double pole switched fuse spur. make sure the back box is at least 20mm and not a plasterdepth box...

    why a rewire. DOMROE

    Have you got an earth wire running through the lighting circuit if so i would not worry about a rewire unless your thinking of adding loads of extra lights and sockets and a shower as the wiring will have to updated otherwise a new CU should be suffice.

    saves changing fuses and putting wrong fuse wire in and burning down your house. id say have it changed. Expect to pay anything between 150 and 350 pounds also this job now under PART P. Also expect to be told your bonding needs updating to 10mm. Beware of the head shakers and unregistered sparks.

    Sounds to me this is a one way switch. Is this a true two way or is it a PART TWO WAY. meaning has the a switch been added at a later date. ie can it be turned on at one end and of at the other and again on back at the other end . Check this out get back to me.

    it can take less than 0.5 of an amp to kill you. would you put your hand in the fire to see if it was hot. or use a lighter for a gas leak. Get it checked out ASAP.

    keeping insulation away from downlights

    went to change a fitting in a house and the owner had placed terracotta pots over each light it was even vented to let the heat escape though practical not flame proof it kept the insulation though, its up to you. If it was my house id fit a firehood check on E-Bay first.

    Potterton puma 80. doing me nut in now

    Thanks for the reply. Pump is running new dhw switch fitted O/H stat ok what is DHE please help im tearing me hair out. Also now the pump only comes on for about 20secs goes of for about a min then back on for 20secs and reaeats over an over. when the CH stat is calling for heat all the time.

    Any body help i got an annoying problem. Every time one of us takes a shower or puts the washing machine on the boiler locks out after you turn the shower off.CH works fine just the hot water that locks the whole system out. But ok when just washing hands or dishes very annoying :idea: [/b]
