so if there is a wall in the ceiling going up to the roof beams then then its a supporitng wall???
how do u know if the wall is carrying the joists or not???

i am a lil damsell in distress..... i live in a mid terrace house. upstairs in my bedroom, i want to knock the wall between bedroom and the bathroom down and move it back a little bit to give me a bigger bedroom and then half my bathroom to build an ensuite.....

thanks for that... i have tried sanding but its not working on the glue and there are hundreds of nails... its is a really old house... it must of been down for years.... doubt that i will get it off.... think i wont have a choice but to carpet it again!!!!!! NOT HAPPY!!!!
hey i was suffering the same thing.... i never thought of checking the loft insulation as it hasbeen really cold in my gaff as havent had central heating till recent....

i have got this hard yellowish glue on the stairs, i dont know how to remove it.... itwas under the carpets that i took up....can anyone help this damsel in DIY distress x
