ok, ill try that or i migh'nt just put the old light fitting back up and tell the g/f that its the wrong type of light for a bathroom, thanks for all your help. if you come up with any other ideas ill keep checking the site ok, once again thanks for all your help guys cheers steve

using this diagram, http://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/ceiling_rose.gif , can i take the wires from the switch cable and join them to the new light fitting, and then take the wires from the other two cables and join them to a choc block, and tape them up and put them out of the way.

will it be ok to put the wires in the block and tape the block up and leave it on the other side of the back plate.

hi, im trying to fix a new bathroom light that i got from argos, it says in the instruction to push the cable through the hole in the fixing plate, there is enough room to push the cable through, but when i took the old light fitting off, there is three cables all wired up to the old light...
