    Telephone Extension

Lectrician - thanks for your speedy reply! I do have broadband. Just to be clear, I connect terminal 2 of my extensions to terminal 2 of the master. Terminal 5 of my externsions to terminal 5 of my master - and so on? I am using CW1308 so will connect as advised. Regarding the...

    Telephone Extension

Gents, I've got one BT master socket at present, and want to add two new ones. I've bought the 4 core cable, IDC tool and two extension sockets (each with 6 numbered terminals at the rear of the face plate, numbered 1 to 6). The master BT socket is (I think) a NTE5 type. The bottom...

    Honeywell

Hi all, My mums central heating is on the fritz. When you switch the heating on, a valve next to the immersion tank has a little plastic arm on the top which goes back and forth a few times, then stops, and the wireless Honeywell controller downstairs gives an error code "F:04". I'm not...

    Upgrading Earth

Thanks very much for all replies. I'm am part p approved, but haven't been going long on my own and wasn't sure what the score was. The method descibed in the last post sounds like the way to go. The client has already contacted central networks at my request for a service fuse upgrade...

    Upgrading Earth

Hi all. I'm upgrading an old fuse board to a new consumer unit, and want to install a 16mm main earth bond. The current earth is a spindly looking cable somehow tacked on to the incoming supply: I'd be very grateful if you'd let me know what to do! I've not come across one like...

Electrical power sockets in my shed

They don't need to be unless they need to be  That is to say they need to be suitable for the environment the are sited in. If you have a leaky roof with moisture soaked walls, use suitably IP rated stuff. If its nice and dry with good weather protection, standard gear is fine - though...

Power socket in middle of a room

It'll always be in use - it'll be the power point for a pair of freezers.

Power socket in middle of a room

Thanks all... very helpful. The Unistrut idea looks good. Handing a flex down from the ceiling certainly sounds nice and easy... I just think it's a bit rough! There isn't a basement. And no carpet - just lino on concrete so I can't hide anything.

Power socket in middle of a room

I want to fit a power socket in the middle of a small shop. Concrete floor which I don't want to chop in to. Thought about using a rubber cable protector along the floor but don't really like the idea. My though is to run conduit along the celing to a point above, then drop down to the socket -...
