I’ve recently taken out the blocks between the studs in my upstairs bay and replaced with PIR. I’d assumed the blocks were non structural and just filling the space and that the 4x2 studwork was taking the load. See photo.
However a few weeks later I’ve got some new cracks on the internal...
Will likely be fitting over eaves vents and those ventilator ridges to maintain air gap, just need to know whether to bother removing brick and best material and fixing method. Cheers!
Existing house has no insulation around top of cavity wall. House is 1930s with a 75mm cavity which has been filled with polystyrene balls. The cavity is closed at the top with the middle row of bricks you can see in the photo. I have access as scaffolding up and roof being stripped and re done...

Ok so if I sand lightly, apply another coat of polyurethane and sand blind it that would give a mechanical key.
You think I should then prime that or just put SLC straight on?
