Hi thanks for your reply Agile. The pump is about 10 years old, it's a Grundfos (red casing). It seems OK to be honest, all the radiators are getting hot as normal as is the hot water tank. The pipes from the boiler are very hot to the touch.

I have noticed on the display on the boiler that the temperature in hot water goes up very quickly then stops for a few seconds then goes up a bit again and then the flame symbol goes off. In heating this does not happen. Is there anything else I can check please?
