I dismantled a dripping bathroom tap, intending to replace the washer and found the component shown in the pictures. I can see that the thread is no good and that I will need a replacement part, but I haven't a clue what it is called. Can anyone help? Thanks Steve

O ring is fine, but thread is many (I have other pics that show the damage a little better). Any idea how to 'swap' threads?
