Hi,

Apologies for asking a dumb (newbie) question, but here goes. I dismantled an old bathroom tap that was constantly dripping, my intention being to replace the washer. When I got the tap opened up, I extracted the attached piece. I can see that the thread is shot and that I will need a replacement part, but I haven't a clue what it is called.

Can anyone help?

If you posted this in Plumbing you'd reach a much more appropriate audience.

And that thread doesn't look beyond use, have you tried a new O ring on the shaft? Not familiar with that particular design of tap, are there any other seals in the tap body?

O ring is fine, but thread is many (I have other pics that show the damage a little better). Any idea how to 'swap' threads?
