Please help. We recently bought a house. We want to instal the recommended 270mm worth of loft insulation. There are however lots of electrical cables (we think all lighting) running across the floor of the loft with very little slack (ie we cannot pull them up to go over the loft insulation)...

Should I instal a heat or smoke sensor in the loft. Seems to be some conflicting advice out there. Thanks.

Hi - just had survey back on house I want to buy. It has solid concrete flooring across the entire ground floor. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of this over a timber raised floor? Is it colder in the winter and how/is it costly to install new radiator pipes and wires between rooms...
