    Dual boiler worth it?

I’m indeed looking to have a new boiler and heard of this dual boiler setup from a chat group. My boiler is probably 20+ years old so not very efficient, it’s only failed once though in the last 5 years due to the pilot light(?) not ignite.

    Dual boiler worth it?

Just came cross this idea of using two smaller boilers in parallel connection instead of single large boiler (say 36kw), so in case one boiler failed the system can still operate albeit in lower capacity. The additional one-time installation cost does not seem to be unaffordable but in practise...

Is it safe to wire from existing wall socket like this?

    (y) Thanks a lot, good to know it’s not a safety hazard. I’ll cover the wire behind the washing machine with trunking until it goes under the base unit. thank you, looked at amazon and found the spacer they sell, will raise the surface by 12mm and I’ll cut it a bit to allow the wire to go...

Is it safe to wire from existing wall socket like this?

Was moving one of the washing machine to garage and found out that the builder wired the wall socket from existing like shown in the picture. The wire then goes under the base units into the tall cabinet and fixed to a surface box. Is this safe to leave the wire exposed (basically lying on the...

Hi all, I'm looking to paint the staircase, just wondering what's the best way to sand with minimum dust? Can I use wet sanding then wipe it clean? how about the spindle, what do I use to sand them?

DA or multitool to sand garden furniture?

Looking to restore some cheap ikea garden furnitures, it's Solid pine with acrylic stain (assume this is water based paint?). I have a DA for car polish and a multi tool, both have sanding accessories available, so without having to invest a sander, which one is better for the job? Also the...

best no solder connectors for copper pipe?

I have two clips at the right side where the copper pipe joins the flexible pipe connecting the water softener - can’t see them from the pic as they’re behind the waste pipe fitting. But those clips I bought, the fixing hole is right at the center of the clips, so once the pipes are in place...

prepare plank floorboard floor for laminate (one is 10mm higher than others)

Thanks for the input. I'm a little confused of why cutting/thinner the offending board making it complicated, I actually think it's less effort compared if I were to lay plywood over the landing area. I have not checked the clearance under the doors but it will be a lot of work if I had to trim...

prepare plank floorboard floor for laminate (one is 10mm higher than others)

For the middle section of the offending board (lifted in 1st pic), should I chop off the top of the brick/concrete mixture so the plank can sit on the joints rather than the bricks? for the two sections that have brick wall built on top of the plank floor board, I can use multi tool to cut off...

best no solder connectors for copper pipe?

Thanks for all the advice and I finally managed to install the water softener. I didn't use the bypass supplied but used valves as I think it looked better. I didn't have check valves at the time but should I add one each in between the valve and flexible pipe ? IMG_7008 Copy by Sup9 posted 13...

prepare plank floorboard floor for laminate (one is 10mm higher than others)

I'm looking to install laminate flooring on landing, I've removed the carpet underlay and screwed down all the plank floor boards. But one of the plank board is 5mm higher than the rest (10mm higher at the highest point). It's the brick wall underneath kept it raised, (I'm guessing the joints...

Outside mains value and 22mm or 15mm for water softener?

Yea, tried it this afternoon I think it still shut off completely. Guess I'd better take one step at a time and get the plumbing work for the water softener right this time.
