    Repair to door threshold - timber to use

    The threshold to an existing external door has rotted in places and I want to cut out the rotten areas and patch/scarf in a new piece of timber. Any advice appreciated on the type of timber to use on the repair. I assume it's hardwood? Many thanks

    Ahh yes I see what you mean. But it will be left switched on. And should only operate when triggered by the humidistat? Right?

    Thanks for all the help. So long as it's safe to wire it by permanent live only there's no harm in me trying it.

    Thanks, that helps me make sense of how it works. At this time I'll have to run it with just the permanent live. It would be alot of messing about otherwise.

    Thanks I'll try that. The fan is in its own supply from a fused spur. It's not linked to the lights.

The xpelair had only 3 input terminal L N and E. The manrose has a switched live terminal as well. The wire running to the fan is only 2...
