    3 core and earth sockets

As I'm just adding 1 additional double socket and there's plenty of loose length on the current cable I'll use what is there.

    3 core and earth sockets

Good morning all. Having had a look at more of the boxes it would seem that every one is wired Black - neutral Brown - live Grey - unused Bare copper - earth (sheathed) Connected to a B16 breaker. There are 10 sockets in total on this breaker and all using this cable as discussed last night.

That was my mistake with the 2.5. Fat fingers. It is 1.5. When I'm back tomorrow I'll check what terminals are used for the relevant colours and let you all know. I'll also check the breaker, but I'm sure it is a 16a.

    3 core and earth sockets

That sounds very likely as the previous tenant worked as a spark at a factory. I'll remove some further faceplates and see what he's done with them. On speaking with the spark who connected my supply for an outside building, he said as long as you know what wire he hasn't used from the 3...

    3 core and earth sockets

Hello, My house has 2.5mm 3 core and earth for the sockets. I'm adding an extra couple of sockets and want to make sure I'm using the correct cables. Can someone confirm where the earth goes and which of the 3 "cores" are used as the live and neutral when wiring a new twin socket? Thanks

    Shed electric supply

I've got 6mm swa to supply from the main consumer unit to a garage consumer unit. The cable I'm now mentioning is for the inner lighting and power sockets.

    Shed electric supply

Hello all. Would there be much difference in using 3c+1e to 2c+1e?

    Shed electric supply

Smart thinking. I hadn't thought about fusing it separately and had instead thought of the consumer unit / distribution board in the shed.

    Shed electric supply

Hi, thanks for your reply. The outside socket is part of the "ground floor sockets" ring which is on a 32A breaker. What I'm looking to know now is, can I tie into this and take a supply to the shed via armour cable in a 500mm trench and split it for sockets and lighting?

    Shed electric supply

Hello all. I'm thinking of running power to my shed for a few lights and a few sockets. I currently have an outdoor socket and was wondering if I tie into this, can I then run this to the shed where I'll have a consumer unit to then split the supply to lights / sockets. Any help would be much...
