Miele themselves told me today (Monday) that you screw the kit through the lid. Do you think using a liberal amount of mastic would do the trick?

The instructions do not mention removing the lid, in fact i bought previously the wrong kit which did say to fit by removing lid, And i know by looking at this one that it would never fit. It definately fits on top of the lid because that is the only wat the tray will slide out.

I have just bought the above stacking kit for a W1714 washing machine and a tumble dryer. Do you need to screw the kit into the top of the machine? or do the screws just sit in the blobs of mastic they say to put under each screw hole?
