Dishwasher Water Supply - Hot or Cold?

Just got new dishwasher (Bosch Exxcel) and instructions say can be plumbed to either hot or cold. Bosch recommend cold but do not state why. To me it would seem more efficent to allow my boiler to heat the water than the dishwasher, and therefore connect it to the hot. However, from reading...

    Dishwasher Dimensions

I am about to fit our new kitchen which will include space for a dishwasher (which I have yet to purchase after blowing the budget on the kitchen). I have now become very worried after reading a few dishwasher installation manuals online that a standard 600mm deep dishwasher will not fit in...

    Preferred Route of cable?

ok, so given that the two boxes are in line horizontally, then cables going to either box are on a permitted route if in line with either box. The question is is it common practice to have cables passing through one box to another, or is it better to go round the outside of the box?

    Preferred Route of cable?

Sorry I was a bit vague ... I meant back box of socket / fcu, the ring includes a couple of short horizontal runs (which I no some perople don't like). So the cable drops from the ceiling to the first box, from there to the second box, and from the second box back past the first and up to the...

    Preferred Route of cable?

If a cable needs to pass through/by a box to complete a ring main should it physically go though the box or around the outside? I am aware that of the general rules on permitted routes but not sure of what the convention is.

    Wiring Options For Oven

OK, I understand - connecting the flex directly to the cooker outlet means directly into > 16A circuit, but with the socket in place of the cooker outlet the 13A fuse protects the flex... Thanks for help

    Wiring Options For Oven

Sorry, now I am confused, if you mean leave the cooker circuit on a 30/45A MCB, and connect the cooker to a plug socket in place of the cooker outlet (as you suggested previously) then surely this is doing exactly what you wouldn't do according to your last post (plug in to circuit > 16A). Or...

    Wiring Options For Oven

Well, technically speaking my question was incorrect as it would not be a reduction as there is nothing there yet! What I meant was to reduce it from the typical 30/45A used for a cooker circuit to 20A used for a normal radial power circuit.

    Wiring Options For Oven

sounds very sensible - thanks you. I will also need to connect the gas hob up (under worktop), could I spur a second single socket off the cooker socket, or should I cater for this on the main kitchen ring?

    Wiring Options For Oven

I would prefer to connect under worktop. Assumming I wired from CU to 45A CCU in 6mm, and from CCU to Cooker outlet in 6mm this would enable a bigger cooker to be connected straight in to the cooker outlet. If I connected my small cooker to this same cooker outlet I guess I would need to reduce...

    Wiring Options For Oven

As part of fitting new kitchen I plan to completely rewire the kitchen as there is currently only a single cooker point / socket. (Note this point will be removed as want to move the cooker position) I plan to put the kitchen on a separate ring main and originally blindly assumed I would also...
