    kitchen cabinet wiring

I wish to use 240V LED for some kitchen cabinets like these https://www.toolstation.com/laghetto-240v-led-round-under-cupboard-light/p18997. I will have 1mm2 T&E for circuit emerging from the wall. Where should I place the wires and connection from the cable to flex for the light in the cabinet...

    3/4" steel conduit

I have a few of those, which I can use in few instances. Yes, the conduit is being used as the CPC. However some of the light switches don't have a bush. It is hard to tell if this was by "design" because the back box is not in contact with conduit, by a few mm. However the metal back box has...

How flat and level for quickstep laminate

Having a rethink on LVT and consider quickstep laminate. I have existing sand cement floor, that was level enough for carpet, and cheap b&q laminate. How much more tolerant is quickstep laminate to minor imperfections compared to LVT? I was going to SLC over 55m2 but if I can touch up the...

Pipes emerging from wall and floor, finishing off

Looking for something decorative to cover 15mm chrome pipe that emerges from the floor or wall before connecting to radiator. Plastic is not acceptable. Any ideas?

    Self leveling screed in sections.

I am considered using self leveling screed over I have about 40m2 over three rooms and hallway. Two layers of SLC and a DPM. The job is too big for me to do in one go. How can I do it in sections and get a surface good enough for vinyl tiles?

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

The noise occurs at both speeds just not as loud. The open therm interface ends up doing thing same most of time, the exception being the first 15minutes as house approaches the desired temp. I can get rid of the noise by adjusting the combi bypass, but at lower setting the bypass was opening...

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

From the panels, two buttons to get to dianotoistic. I tried 10K and 7K settings. Instead of just on/off the boiler to heat to boiler set flow temp say 75 degree, it will ask the boiler to run at a lower temperature if can meet the demand by running longer. Simple upgrade, and the room is...

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

The only reason I thought I would benefit from a bypass is the main circuit is a mix of 22mm (closest to boiler) and 15mm where the circuit is expanded. Instead of being a 22mm circuit with 15mm branching off to the radiators.

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

No difference, tried 7K as well. Using the opentherm interface means the boiler is often (at least now it wamer) just demanding 50degrees. But the problem is only when the big rads are turned off.

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

The boiler has been upgraded to use opentherm, even when the controller demands 45deg and it is modulating to a very low setting the pump noise still happens, if a close off certain rads. Otherwise no noise.

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

Ok shorter version. I was going to fit a bypass valve at the end of the 22mm run, before it switches to 15mm. Is it simply a matter of fitting it and setting it to say .3bar or such that the combi boilers internal bypass stay closed? (Currently set to .35bar its maximum) Or is the combi bypass...

Adding a Bypass valve to combi installion

I have almost finished my upgrade to my central heating. i.e. all new radiators, new pipes etc. The combi boilers built in bypass is set to maximum at .35bar. The existing system is a Valiant ecotec plus with 22mm used for about 1/4 the run and the rest are 15mm, 6 rads for 10KW. I was going...

loop in connectors inside steel conduit, what is best to use?

How about using these?, https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crimp-bootlace-ferrules/1849682/ I have two places where a branch exists. Two 2.5mil stranded cables in the steel conduit, that I would use a single bootlace ferule on. And the cable that is the branch which solid core T&E. I would then put...
